Our Open Programmes are run throughout the year and help leaders, coaches, facilitators and development professionals to further explore some fundamentals of Depth Psychology and its applications, both personally and organisationally.
We provide individual supervision and peer supervision groups, to allow coaches or development professionals the space to reflect upon their work and take new perspectives, to better support their clients.

FACING THE EDGE
The Psychodynamics of Change
31st May 2019
'The edge...There is no honest way to explain it, because the only people who really know where it is, are the ones who have gone over'
Hunter S. Thompson
Research suggests that over 70% of change programmes fail to deliver their intended objectives.
This one day workshop will explore the human experience of change and consider how organisations can engage employees effectively in turbulent times.
It is intended for leaders and consultants who want to better understand human systems and deliver more successful change programmes.
BELOW THE SURFACE
Noticing the Unconscious in Working Relationships
27th September 2019
'Listening is not done by the ears but by the mind. We hear sounds but we listen for meanings'
The ability to observe and make sense of other peoples' perspectives and states of mind defines our relationships in every part of our lives.
This one day workshop explores ways to deepen our understanding of our relationships, and develop insights into the unconscious impulses and emotions that shape them.
It is intended for experienced coaches, leaders and consultants who want to better understand others and use that knowledge to create better organisations.

THE MADNESS OF GROUPS
Exploring Group Dynamics
14th November 2019
'A group is impulsive, changeable and irritable. It is led almost exclusively by the unconscious...it has no critical faculty, and the improbable does not exist for it'
Groups can be irrational and driven by the unconscious motivations of their members which may take them off task or even destroy the group itself.
This one day workshop will explore some of the underlying reasons behind underperformance and failure in groups, and one critical way in which these can be addressed.
It is intended for leaders and experienced facilitators looking to deepen their understanding of human systems.
THE STORIES WE TELL
How narrative shapes personality
06th December 2019
Fairy tales do not tell children that dragons exist. Children already know that dragons exist. Fairy tales tell children that dragons can be killed'
Human being are 'hard wired' to respond to narrative and the stories we tell help us make sense of our world and our place in it. They give us 'roadmaps for life'.
This one day workshop explores the universal themes and symbols of storytelling, its psychology and neurobiology and its role in shaping us as individuals.
It is intended for anyone who wants to make better sense of their own story and its implications for their personal development.

Supervision allow coaches or development professionals the space to reflect upon their work and take new perspectives, to better support their clients. It stimulates ongoing learning and provides emotional support through challenging client situations. It is an essential part of any development practice.
Our Supervision practice is led by Laurence Barrett. Laurence has trained at the Institute of Group Analysis and the Tavistock Institute (as a coach and coach supervisor), and holds an MSc in Analytical (Jungian) Psychology from the British Psychotherapy Foundation.
Individual supervision can take place on a face to face basis, or via Skype.
Supervision is bespoke to the individual so please drop us a line for a discussion, if you are interested.
PEER SUPERVISION GROUPS
Heresy Peer Supervision Groups are intended for senior change leaders or coaches, and provide spaces to reflect on what may be happening ‘under the surface’ in the teams and organisations in which they work.
Participants bring case studies or dilemmas from their work, to be explored by the group, who may then provide new perspectives and provoke new ways of working.
The Group Supervisor may introduce appropriate psychodynamic concepts and theory to further help participants understand the challenges they face.
Each group will also reflect on its own dynamics throughout the process, supporting a live experience of group work and providing further opportunities for learning.
Each group is composed of 4-6 participants, and meets on for 2-3 hours every two months, allowing each member to bring a case study for discussion over the course of a 'term' of four meetings.
